Emily has been a passionate arts advocate for many years, working as a grant writer, curator, producer, and grant panelist in the fields of dance and theatre. She has extensive administrative experience, including university financial aid and alumni offices, a private label menswear design company, and an online retailer of handmade artisan goods. She also spent one year as executive support staff for a global private equity firm in New York City.

Emily has been on the artistic faculty of The Fredricksburg Theater Company (VA), The Lost Colony (NC), The Yard (MA), Summer Stages Dance (MA), The Young Dancemakers Company (NY), The Janice Wyatt Summer Arts Institute (MS), the Fashion Institute of Technology (NY), and New York University, among many other institutions. There she taught a full course load of dance techniques, choreographed multiple student works, and coached the university’s dance line, The NSU Demon Dazzlers.

Marcy Wuestenhoefer

Marcy Wuestenhoefer was born in Greenwood, MS.  She attended jr. high and high school at Pillow Academy where she was a member of the dance team for six years.  After graduating in 2000, she moved on to become a Delta Dancer at Mississippi Delta Community College training under the direction of Betty Aden.  While at MDCC, Wuestenhoefer realized her passion for dance, choreography, and the performing arts.  She still continues to work with Aden every summer as an instructor and choreographer at the Betty Aden Dance Camp.

In 2002, Marcy began working for the Lacy Tollison Studio of Dance located in Indianola, MS, and remained there for the next four years.  In 2005, she decided it was time to open a studio of her own hoping to inspire local students to share her passion for dance and the performing arts. Expressions Dance Studio, located in her hometown, is now in its 5th year with a competing dance troop.  The XPress troop has received top honors at competitions under the direction of Wuestenhoefer.  Not straying too far from her roots, Marcy also became the director and choreographer of the Pillow Academy Varsity Dancers in 2005.  She also stays involved with her local “performing arts” community.  Marcy has served as choreographer for numerous senior plays and at the Greenwood Little Theatre.  She has also choreographed for a number of studios, performance groups, and dance teams across the state.

Marcy continues to develop her talent by continuing to train all styles of dance.  She has attended dance conventions studying under some of the worlds top choreographers.  While Marcy still enjoys learning and performing herself, she is thankful and excited she is able to pass dance onto others and is blessed to have the support of her family, friends, and local community.
