Will Harris

 

Born in Houston, TX in 1984.  He is the son of Vyrl Harris and the late Jodi Kennedy.  Will is the middle son of three boys.  His oldest brother is ex-LSU tiger and current Philadelphia Philly Clay Harris.  Will is a graduate of Slidell High in 2002 and went on to play for LSU from 2003-2006.  His professional baseball career began in June of 2006 when the Colorado Rockies selected him with the second pick in the 9th round.

 Will’s achievements:

* 2000 All-District, All-Parish, All-Metro, and All-State for the Slidell High Baseball Team
* 2000 American Legion State Champions
* 2001 All-District, All-Parish, All-Metro, and All-State for Slidell High
* 2002 All-District, All-Parish, All-Metro, and All-State for Slidell High
* 2002 District MVP, and Parish MVP for Slidell High
* 2002 Signed a National Letter of Intent to Play Baseball at LSU
* 2003 Pitcher & Infielder for the LSU Tiger Baseball Team
* 2003 Member of SEC Champion Tiger Baseball Team
* 2003 Valley Summer Baseball League All-Star Game MVP
* 2004 Played on the Cape Cod Summer League Championship Team
* 2006 Selected in the 9th round of the MLB Draft by the Colorado Rockies
* 2006 Played for the Tri-City Dust Devils in the Colorado Rockies Farm System
* 2006 Had a 1.13 ERA and 43 K's in 31 IP for the Dust Devils
* 2007 Played for the Asheville Tourists
* 2007 Led all Rockies full season rosters with a 1.31 ERA
* 2007 Led all Rockies full season rosters with a 12.5 Strikeouts per 9 IP ratio (69 K's in 47 IP)
* 2007 Named Rockies Minor League Pitcher of the Month in August with a 0.57 ERA allowing just 9 hits while striking out 25 in 15 IP
