Chad Ogea

Chad was Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on November 9, 1970. He is the son of Arthur Ogea and Laura Kaough. Chad has an older brother, Joseph, and younger sister, Nikkie. He graduated from St. Louis High School in Lake Charles. Chad resides in Baton Rouge with his wife Anne, and their two daughters Madelyn (8) and Hannah Grace (5). Chad has spent the last six years dedicating his time to help teach kids in the Baton Rouge area how to play the game of baseball. He has a tremendous knowledge of the game of baseball that has been learned through his experiences at the Major League Level. His work ethic and passion for the game is what really makes him the teacher that he is today.

Chad’s Achievements

* 1985 Member of St. Louis High School State Champion Baseball Team
* 1987 Received All-State honors as a Junior
* 1988 Member of St. Louis High School State Champion Baseball Team
* 1988 Recevied All-State honors as a Senior
* 1988 Named Louisiana Player of the Year
* 1989 First Year as a Member of the LSU Tigers Baseball Team
* 1991 Starting Pitcher that beat Wichita State to Win the College World Series
* 1991 Selected in the 3rd Round of the MLB Draft by the Cleveland Indians
* 1991 Played for the Indians A Ball team in Kinston, North Carolina
* 1992 Played for the Indians AA team in Canton-Akron, Ohio
* 1992 Named Cleveland Indians Minor League Player of the Year
* 1993 Promoted to the AAA team in Charlotte, North Carolina
* 1994 Started the Year in AAA again in Charlotte
* 1994 Chad was called up to the Major Leagues by the Cleveland Indians
* 1994 On May 3, Major League Debut against the Chicago White Sox
* 1995 Member of the Cleveland Indians that went to the World Series
* 1996 Member of the Indians that were Central Division Champions
* 1997 Started Game 2 & Game 6 of the World Series against the Marlins
* 1997 Chad got the Win in both Games that he Started in the World Series
* 1998 Member of the Indians that were Central Division Champions
* 1998 In the off season was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies where he spent one year
* 2001 Chad’s career was cut short due to injury and retired in the fall
* Chad’s Professional career: 3 Seasons Minor Leagues, 5 Seasons Major Leagues
